During my first solo trip to London, I did a theatre tour. I had no idea what to expect from it but it was a wonderful experience. The Theatre Royal Drury Lane opened its doors in 1663, so there are many stories to tell about it. This tour will take you through the entire theatre (yes, you'll see Frozen's stage! ), and you'll learn a lot about this special place.
What can you expect?
On the two-hour tour, the guides reveal all the secrets to you of the theatre's history. To keep it lighthearted, there is a mix of drama and guidance. My tour began in the foyer, where I received my theatre tour guest pass. After that, they gave some more information about the beautiful paintings that hang up in the theatre.
We even got to see the stage of Frozen. While the guide was giving us more information about the venue, they were cleaning and testing the stage lighting, which was amazing to see. Especially if you like backstage things like this.
We even walked into the basement of the theater where there were a lot of secrets in there.
I would definitely recommend doing this tour. Two hours is not that long and you get to see different things that you normally as an audience member cannot see. English is not my mother language but everything was clear.
More information could be found on the website of Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
