My first solo trip to London, how exciting! It was not my first solo trip ever, because in 2021 I traveled to San Diego for two weeks and in 2022 I traveled to Malaga (Spain) for five days.
Are you curious about what I did through this five-day trip? In this blog, you will find my tips for a great solo trip to London.
My top five activities to do while in London
1. Go to a musical
London is THE city of musicals, so my first tip is obvious. It is my favorite activity to do. For many people, this is a no-go because you are alone. Most of the time you are watching the show, so you don't have to worry about feeling lonely or uncomfortable, plus you won't be the only one going alone.
2. Go to a restaurant
I give this as a must-do, but if I have to be honest, I'm not so comfortable with this. Going to a musical alone is okay because you're mostly watching the show, but going to a restaurant is on another level :). Although afterwards, you feel strong and proud of yourself. I went to a restaurant twice and the people were very friendly. Once you're all done, it doesn't feel weird at all. It's just that one step you have to take. While visiting a restaurant on Primrose Hill, they asked me if I wanted to read the newspaper or a magazine :)
3. Walk walk walk walk
You know the feeling when you've just booked a trip? It's great, isn't it? The next step you do is to plan everything you want to do, and that's fun, but you know what's even more fun? Letting yourself be surprised. Go on an adventure and just let everything come to you. I'm normally a planner too but there is so much to see in a big city like London. So take it from me when you wake up in the morning start your day without plans and you will see that you will have a great day!
4. Go to a park
The best time to travel is in the summer (or at least a time when the weather is nice). Bring a good book, put on your headphones, and go to the park. My favorite park is Primrose Hill, where many people walk their dogs. If you are looking for a more centrally located park I would definitely recommend Victoria Embankment Gardens, where you have a great view of the London Eye, it is also very close to Covent Garden.
5. Talk to people
When you are traveling alone, it is the best time to meet new people. It doesn't matter how long the conversation is, just do it. When I was in London, people heard that I was not from the Uk, so I got the conversation about where I come from. You can always go to a meeting group or join a Facebook group for solo travelers.

Because it was my first solo trip to London and I wanted to do A LOT of things I made a plan (I know, I just gave you the advice to do a no-plan day and I did it but I also made a plan :)).
